Weldon J. Reeves, CPA, MBA, CEBS
 
Professional Background:
 
Weldon Reeves has been assisting employees and executives, retirees, entrepreneurs, and businesses with their retirement plans for over 20 years.  He has taught, advised, and consulted with employees and retirees of United Space Alliance, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, BP, Reliant Energy (HL&P), The Coastal Corporation, and Lyondell Chemical Company.  He also regularly consults and advises successful entrepreneurs and professionals regarding their retirement and investment plans.
 
Prior to starting his own firm in 1996, Weldon was the manager of the U.S. and Canadian retirement plans for The Coastal Corporation; he held a similar position with Houston Lighting & Power (now known as Reliant Energy and Centerpoint Energy).  Weldon was a member of the Personal Financial Planning team and the Benefits & Compensation team at Arthur Andersen & Company.  His first corporate job out of school was as the investments accountant and employee benefits public speaker for Deseret Mutual Benefits Administrator.
 
Weldon is known for his unique abilities to help individuals sort through the “noise” and gain the knowledge, ability, and comfort to make the financial decisions that are so important to their lives and the lives of their families.  He has a knack for simplifying the complex.
 
Educational Background/Certifications:
 
Weldon graduated from high school in the Houston area (Clear Lake High School), then went on to graduate from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  He earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Utah.  Weldon is also a CPA and a Registered Investment Advisor.  He also passed ten examinations over several years to earn the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
 
Personal Information:
 
Weldon Reeves is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Texas Society of CPAs, and the Houston CPA Society.  He serves on the board of the Bay Area Turning Point Foundation (Co-chairman and Treasurer), an organization dedicated to supporting victims of domestic abuse.  He also serves on the board of the NASA Area Little League (Treasurer).  Weldon is also Scoutmaster for Troop 496 of the Boy Scouts of America – the same troop he belonged to as a youth.
 
Weldon and his wife, Kate, live in the Clear Lake area; they have four children (2 in college).  Weldon’s hobbies include being a dad (watching his children in their competitive sports, and attending dance, piano, violin and voice recitals).  He also enjoys reading, water-skiing, snow skiing, traveling, and volunteer service.
